Fatal climbing accident on Kalymnos following freak bolt failure A 60-year-old climber from the Czech Republic perished on Friday 27 March 2026 following a fall on the island of Kalymnos in Greece. The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation by the relevant authorities but preliminary reports indicate bolt failure was the cause of the fall.
