Part of the many C.A.M.P. novelties for the SS 2027 season, the Aeris helmet has won the Silver European Outdoor Award (EOA). Delivered by the European Outdoor Group, together with MPM AG in Munich, this award aims at pinpointing several aspects within innovation in the outdoor industry. It emphasises all the products, such as the Aeris, that open up new perspectives and are considered state-of-the-art items in view of their material, construction, performance and sustainability. The EOA embodies a certificate of excellence, a guarantee for retailers and end users. The award ceremony took place on 16 May 2026 in Riva del Garda (Trento, Italy) as part of the European Outdoor Week.

The Aeris helmet was developed over a little more than twelve months from its rough draft to the definitive specimen, perfectly balancing functionality and design. Thanks to the new ShieldTexa (Pat. Pend.) production technology, it blends exceptional lightness (160 gr.) with enhanced protection, meeting the requirements of the new EN 12492:2025 standard and the last revision (2025) of the UIAA 106 standard. This helmet features a single in-mold shell that integrates three different materials. The EPP shell incorporates a high- molecular weight polyethylene felt (UHMWPE) layer and an EPS smaller shell in the top part. Enhancing shock absorption and energy distribution, this solution improves protection on the sides and the lower part of the helmet, ensuring compliance with the new and stricter CE and UIAA standards. It also scores high on sustainability: Aeris features removable parts (for cleaning, replacement and a better end-of-life management) and also an innovative packaging (with a mesh endowed with hooks, ideally reusable to fix the helmet to the pack.)

The EOA jury welcomed and valued all these aspects, in particular appreciating «how this helmet combines advanced protection technologies with an exceptionally light and minimalist structure». In the award write-up, we read that «the ShieldTexa technology shows a highly refined approach to modern engineering related to climbing helmets», and also «the mesh to carry the helmet, as opposed to a single-use packaging, adds a special touch». Speaking of “modern engineering related to climbing helmets”, we wish to point out that the Silver European Outdoor Award is the third international award given to our helmets over the last twelve months. In 2025, the Ikon and Ikon Nova obtained the iF Silver European Outdoor Award and then the Red Dot Design Award (Best of the Best). These awards confirm the high level reached by C.A.M.P. when creating these products, all conceived and developed by our designer Marco Nicora.

C.A.M.P. is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of technical tools for mountaineering, climbing, hiking and ski mountaineering. Founded in Premana in 1889, in the mountains by Lecco, where it still holds its headquarters, the firm is now lead by the fourth generation of the Codega family. Crafting something special: for the past 135 years, this has been at the core of any new C.A.M.P. product. Creating something that sets itself apart from what is already there, that makes a difference in terms of performance, durability and lightness. C.A.M.P. meets the demands of all mountain enthusiasts, analyses what is already on the market and finds more suitable solutions to enhance the experience of professionals and enthusiasts alike. Innovation is our keyword and, as far as helmets are concerned, the Aeris is the last chapter of a story including pivotal models like the 1982 Dolomiti, with a fibreglass shell, the 1994 LW260, a forerunner of ultra light models, the 1998 Startech and its revolutionary design, the 1999 Starlight, which introduced the in-mold construction, the 2009 Speed and 2017 Storm, exceptionally ventilated and ultra light.
