C.A.M.P. becomes the official sponsor of the Italian ski mountaineering team
Born and bred and still based in the mountains, C.A.M.P. possesses a special relationship with ski mountaineering. Market rules certainly play a part, but wholehearted passion lies at the core of it all. The surroundings of the firm clearly had a role, as going ski touring to reach a close-by peak, maybe after work, is pretty common round here. As is the competitive sphere of this discipline, promoted by local sports associations among young people, C.A.M.P. being an active supporter.
This introduction was necessary to announce that C.A.M.P. has become the official sponsor of the Italian ski mountaineering team. Our firm feels especially in tune with this sector and really proud, especially at a particular and pivotal time for this truly fascinating sport, where the relationship with the natural world is very strong.
The agreement reached with the FISI (The Italian Winter Sports Federation) is the obvious end of a process that has seen and sees C.A.M.P. as sponsor of events, sport societies and athletes – such as Robert Antonioli, Nicolò Canclini and Giulia Murada – favouring ski mountaineering at all levels and in all its dimensions, from easy Sunday outings to legendary competitions.
C.A.M.P. has been a point of reference for ski mountaineers for decades, offering a series of items – from helmets to packs, gloves and poles – especially conceived for them. Innovative and particularly efficient technical solutions – fundamental during a competition to gain relevant seconds and an advantage for sport enthusiasts – along with the ongoing search for lightness – in itself essential and valued during every outing – do make a difference. Athletes need them to win, enthusiasts to have more fun.
How do these ideas come about? We obviously need to thank our technicians, who practice this sport eagerly, but also our precious collaboration with star players like the above-mentioned Antonioli, whose experience has always been fundamental in the development of technical solutions like the X-Press ski carrying system in the Rapid Racing pack.
Other examples of C.A.M.P. products for competitive ski mountaineering are the Corsa Race ice axe – at 185 gr it is the lightest certified model in the world –, the Skimo Race crampons - with an innovative front T-stop binding system – and the minimalist Alp Race harness – weighing an exceptionally feathery 68 gr.
These are iconic items, appreciated by athletes and easy to recognise in all competitions, proving that C.A.M.P. is fully focused on ski mountaineering: this is now further emphasised by the partnership between the Premana firm and the FISI, brought together on the racing tracks of a sport where heart, mind and soul live in unison, and whose success keeps on growing, up on the most beautiful mountains in the world.
Passion, work and simplicity are some key-words that have always distinguished the way of doing of C.A.M.P.
The passion is the one for the mountain and for the products that help everyone that go out there to accomplish their dreams and projects; the work is the one handed on for more than 115 years by four different generations that succeeded to the helm of the company, and the simplicity that marks a way of doing and collaborating based on seriousness and fairness.
