Ferrino teams up with the Pou Brothers
Ferrino, the leading Italian outdoor equipment brand, has signed an agreement with the Pou brothers: Iker and Eneko, world-renowned climbers and alpinists and key figures in the mountain and climbing community. The collaboration, which aims to expand the brand's roster of international ambassadors, was arranged through Snow Factory, Ferrino's distributor in Spain.
“Saying ‘yes’ to Ferrino means saying ‘yes’ to a brand with a real history behind it, one that carefully crafts every product it brings to market. We also share strong values such as quality above all, tradition, honesty, and a passion for alpinism,” say the two professionals.
Anna Ferrino, current CEO of Ferrino, also expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership: “It represents authenticity, exploration in remote environments, and alpine-style performance—core values shared by Ferrino and the Pou brothers. We will express these principles through real expeditions, honest storytelling, and product development focused on lightness, reliability, and essential design.”
For the development of new products, Ferrino will draw on the brothers’ decades of mountain experience: more than 3 million meters of elevation gain and nearly 80,000 climbing routes worldwide, from the Himalayas and the Andes to Antarctica.
“The Pou brothers bring unique field experience in remote and demanding conditions, from big walls to high-altitude ascents. Their contribution will be key to developing equipment designed for true alpine style: lightweight, durable, and fully reliable in extreme environments,” Ferrino adds.
The century-old, family-run company will accompany the Pou brothers for two years on their most alpine adventures, providing the necessary technical gear: tents, sleeping bags, mats, and accessories.
“It’s a meeting of two paths that deeply respect each other. We’ve spent our whole lives in the mountains, and Ferrino is a brand that has been there for 150 years, present in the great expeditions of history,” say the Pou brothers about this new partnership.
This collaboration represents a key contribution to the mountaineering and climbing community, as highlighted by the CEO: “We want this partnership to inspire the outdoor community to rediscover exploration beyond the beaten path. By sharing real stories from remote places, we aim to promote a more authentic, conscious, and adventure-driven approach to the mountains.”
At the moment, Iker is in Taghia, one of the world’s benchmark areas for difficult big-wall climbing, where he is using the Lightech 1000 sleeping bag and the Air Lite mat. Meanwhile, Eneko is wrapping up his ski mountaineering season.
Both are preparing in their own way to form a full rope team when their next expedition to the Andes begins in June and July—an expedition in which Ferrino will be present.
About Ferrino:
Founded in 1870 by Cesare Ferrino in his shop in Turin, in northwestern Italy, with the Alps as a backdrop, the company established itself as a pioneer in the development of waterproof fabrics. More than a century later, the company continues to embody this innovative spirit from its facilities near the Alpine range, where a team of designers and technicians develops high-quality products tested in the field with the support of athletes, professionals, and university research laboratories.
Led by the Ferrino and Rabajoli families, and currently under the direction of Anna Ferrino, the company employs around 70 people who oversee the entire process, from design to production and international distribution. Its commitment to innovation, durability, and high performance in outdoor equipment was recognized in 2024, when Anna Ferrino was awarded the Compasso d’Oro by the Italian Association for Industrial Design (ADI), honoring a career defined by continuous evolution without losing sight of its roots.
