After having started 2020 by climbing his sixth 9a+, Pachamama at Oliana, Switzerland’s Cédric Lachat has ended this strange year on a high by taking down his seventh of this grade, Super-Crackinette at Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux. The route shot to fame in 2018 when Adam Ondra successfully made the world’s first 9a+ flash, while in March Julia Chanourdie chose it as her first 9a+, before progressing on to Eagle-4 and becoming only the third woman in the world to climb a 9b.

Infatigable 36-year-old Lachat started working the line in early December, after having made a rare repeat of the Rätikon multi-pitch Wogü earlier this summer.
