Former European Bouldering Champion Cédric Lachat has made the first repeat of La Cène du Roi Lézard, a 9a+ at Jansegg in the Gastlosen massif in Switzerland. This route was first freed in November 2017 by Germany’s Pirmin Bertle who, almost single-handedly, has developed this sheet of pristine limestone located at almost 1800 meters.

At the time Bertle suggested 9b after having fallen almost twenty times off the finishing dyno, but subsequently downgraded his own creation last summer when Lachat found some easier beta.

The hardest route at the crag is currently La Barrière, which shares the same finish as La Cène but starts up a 9a instead of the 8b, taking difficulties up to a suggest 9b.
