From 27- 30 December 2025 French mountaineers Léo Billon, Amaury Fouillade, Nicolas Jean and Enzo Oddo made the first ascent of 'Basique' (1100m, V+ A2+ M5) up Point Whymper (4184m) on the north face of Grandes Jorasses in the Mont Blanc massif.

Olivier Kolly, Filippo Sala and Silvan Schüpbach have made the first ascent of 'Le clin d’œil' on the north face of Dent Blanche (4357m) in Switzerland. The new route, climbed on 28 and 29 December 2025, forms part Schüpbach's 'The 6 Forgotten North Face' project.

American alpinists Alex Hansen and Benjamin Lieber have made the first ascent of Changla Khang West (6233m) in Nepal. The pair climbed the mountain alpine style over a period of five days via the Southwest Ridge (1200m, WI4 M4). Lieber provides details.

American climber Sasha DiGiulian has made a free ascent of 'Platinum', also known as 'The Direct Line' on El Capitan in Yosemite, USA.

32-year-old Marcello Bombardi has repeated 'La Fenice' on Rocca dei Campanili del Mongioie in NW Italy. Graded 8c max, 7c obligatory, this 150m multipitch was established and freed ground-up by Matteo Gambaro and Alessandro Cariga in 2021.

Japanese climber Ryuichi Murai has repeated 'Return of the Sleepwalker' at Red Rocks, USA. Established by Daniel Woods, in 2021, this is Murai's frist 9A boulder problem.
