Stefano Ghisolfi redpoints Ratstaman Vibrations (9b) at Céüse
Last week Stefano Ghisolfi sent Ratstaman Vibrations, the 9b at at Céüse in France. Bolted ground-up by Chris Sharma around 15 years ago, the route was freed by Alex Megos in 2022 and originally graded 9b. Yannick Flohé made the first repeat in summer 2025 and suggested an upgrade to 9b/+, while Ghisolfi confirmed Megos' initial thoughts.
Writing on his Instagram account, ghisolfi stated "Ratstaman Vibrations, my 12th 9b, went down quickly. I tried the route for a couple of days back in 2022 when it was still a project, and it took me 6 more sessions this trip to get it done. After refining the sections and linking both cruxes, I felt ready to give some real attempts, falling twice at the end of crux 2 on day 7 and completing it on day 8, bleeding a bit too much. Thanks as always Sara Grippo for the immense support and the pictures!"
Ghisolfi's rapid success comes as no great surprise to be honest as the 33-year-old spent most of spring concentrating on his strength and power by bouldering outdoors. This netted him an impressive four 8C boulders between March and May: Dreamtime and the Story of Two Worlds in Cresciano, 4-Low in Valle Bavona and Big Illusion in Valle di Daone.
