On the Southwest face of Mount Gulba in Georgia's Caucasus mountains a women's expedition comprised of Elena Barbist, Elisabeth Mayr, Elena Prem, Hannah Rabl, Jana Scheiring and Babsi Vigl has made the first ascent 'Pferderennen02'. The September 2025 expedition was the final stage of the Austrian Alpinkader program. Mayr reports.

Interview with Hervé Barmasse who, together with Felix Berg and Adam Bielecki, reached the summit of Numbur Peak (6958m) in Nepal on 19 October 2025. The trio ascended the previously unclimbed south face in alpine style.

French alpinists Benjamin Védrines and Nicolas Jean have made the coveted first ascent of Jannu East (7,468m) in Nepal. The pair made their historic alpine-style ascent over a period of four days via the mountain's north face and summited on 15 October 2025.

Slovenian alpinists Anja Petek and Patricija Verdev are the recipients of Piolets d'Or Special Mention for Female Mountaineering, for their first ascent of Lalung I in the Indian Himalaya. The awards will be celebrated at San Martino di Castrozza (Italy) from 9 - 12 December 2025
