21-year-old climber Italian climber Iris Bielli has sent her first 8c+, 'Il lupo perde il pelo ma non il vizio' at Sasso Pelo in Lombardy.

On 7 January 2026 Russian alpinists Boris Egorov, Vladimir Murzaev, Konstantin Yaemurd made the first BASE jump off Fitz Roy (Cerro Chaltén) in Patagonia. Egorov reports.

In the course of 2025, first ski descents were completed from three exceptionally beautiful Dolomite peaks: Cima Garbari (3,018m, Brenta Dolomites) - East face direct; Crodon di San Candido (2,891m, Sesto Dolomites) - south face direct; Cima delle Fede (2,953m, Pale di San Martino) - North-East face. On 31/12/2025 Filip Babicz and Olivier Gajewski climbed the historic 'Allain-Leininger' route (TD+, M7, 900m) on the north face of the Petit Dru (3,733m) in the Mont Blanc massif. This is a rare single-day free ascent in winter of this classic, established in 1935 by Pierre Allain and Raymond Leininger.

32-year-old Marcello Bombardi has repeated 'La Fenice' on Rocca dei Campanili del Mongioie in NW Italy. Graded 8c max, 7c obligatory, this 150m multipitch was established and freed ground-up by Matteo Gambaro and Alessandro Cariga in 2021.

On 14 October 2025 French alpinists Gaëtan Navarrete and Julien Priour made the first ascent of Khurdopin Sar (6,458m) in the Karakoram, Pakistan. The pair made their alpine style ascent via the south couloir to the west ridge and breached snow, ice, and mixed terrain up to 70°.
