Probable first ski descents in the Dolomites by Francesco Vascellari & co.
A 2025 season with a fairly high snow line allowed the completion of ski lines—all likely first descents—on several high peaks in the Dolomites, near the 3,000-meter mark.
1. Cima Garbari, 3018m (Brenta Dolomites) - East face direct. Likely first descent of the East face. ~50°, ascended via normal route, with a 15m abseil at the base. April 2025. Francesco Vascellari, accompanied to the summit by Mattia Ferraro.
2. Crodon di San Candido, 2981m - South face direct. Likely first descent of the South face. ~45°, ascended via normal route, with an 18m abseil at the base. Accomplished as part of a single-day enchainment with the descent of Couloir 1 on the Sassovecchio-Altensteinspitze East Col (2817m). March 2025. Franz Anstein, Davide D'Alpaos, Mirko Forti, Francesco Vascellari.
3. Cima delle Fede, 2953m (Pale di San Martino) - North-East face. Likely first descent of the North-East face. ~55°, used a 10m fixed handline at the characteristic hole (in summer, it is bypassed to the right) and an abseil from the summit. April & May 2025. Davide D'Alpaos and Francesco Vascellari.
In addition to these descents in 2025, further descents were made on almost unknown itineraries for which no prior skiing information exists, such as Torre Kiene XV (3030m), skied continuously from the summit, and Cima Comelle (2951m), in the Pale di San Martino group.
