On Tuesday 27 May 2025, eleven rangers from Gran Paradiso National Park and an ARPA Valle d'Aosta technician ascended the Grand Etrèt Glacier in Valsavarenche to conduct their annual spring snowpack survey.

Barbara Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher have made the first free ascent of 'Next Generation' in the Rätikon massif. Located on the Zwölferkopf West Face, this 170m alpine sport climb was established by Christian Fritz, Pio Jutz, Klaus Müller and Christof Thaler in 2018 and now goes free at 8b+.
