On November 23rd a bouldering competition took place at Nürnberg in Germany and reached the ambitious goal of raising 10,000 euros for CAC - Climbers Against Cancer, the not-for-profit charity founded by John Ellison committed to the battle against cancer.
8-year-old Edward Mills, who raised over € 30,000 against cancer with his ascent of The Old Man of Hoy in Scotland, has won the prestigious annual 'Young Fundraiser of the Year - Pride of Britain Awards'.
The Old Man of Hoy in Scotland was climbed recently by eight-year-old Edward Mills. In becoming the youngest person to climb the iconic sea stack he importantly raised nearly €30,000 for Climbers Against Cancer.
South Korea’s Han Na Rai Song and Russia’s Alexey Dengin won the Lead discipline of the first stage of the Ice Climbing World Cup 2018 that took place last weekend at Saas Fee in Switzerland. The Speed discipline was won by the Russians Nikolai Kuzovlev and Ekaterina Feoktistova. During the competition, Climbers Against Cancer (CAC) donated £25.000 to the Swiss Cancer Research Foundation.

Britain’s Shauna Coxsey placed second in Vail last night to win the Bouldering World Cup 2016. The sixth stage was won America’s Megan Mascarenas and Japan’s Kokoro Fujii.
On Sunday 27 December 2015 John Ellison, the founder of the charity Climbers against Cancer, passed away. In the space of just a few years the inspirational Englishman achieved the unprecedented feat of bringing the entire climbing community together through CAC, aimed at raising awareness about cancer and gathering funds for research against this disease.

Friday, August 29, 2014 Arco Rock Legends celebrates its ninth edition by assigning, during the Rock Master Festival, the two prestigious sport climbing Oscars entitled Salewa Rock Award and La Sportiva Competition Award. Those nominated for the Salewa Rock Award are Alexander Megos, Adam Ondra and Muriel Sarkany, while Sachi Amma, Urko Carmona Barandiaran and Dimitri Sharafudtinov have been nominated for the La Sportiva Competition Award. The Climbing Ambassador by Aquafil award will be assigned to the Italian writer, sculptor, alpinist and rock climber Mauro Corona.
