About Ocún and Acopa
Ocún, a Czech brand with a legacy dating back to the early 1990s, is widely recognized for its precision engineering, design innovation, and commitment to climbers’ performance and safety. Ocún climbing shoes are trusted by climbers around the globe.

Acopa, founded in the same decade in Mexico, built its reputation on handcrafted quality, durability, and deep roots in climbing culture. The brand is particularly known for its association with legendary American climber John Bachar, who played a formative role in Acopa’s early development and ethos.

Despite emerging from different continents, both brands share a similar journey - rising from passionate beginnings in the 1990s to become respected names in global climbing.

The birth of Roca Pura
The idea for Roca Pura was born when Jakub Hendrych, son of Ocún founder Pavel Hendrych, began exploring long-term production opportunities outside Europe. The first spark came in 2020 during Pavel’s visit to Mexico, where he discovered Acopa’s exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to climbing heritage.

With production expansion in the Czech Republic becoming less viable, Jakub approached Acopa’s founder Ernesto Vázquez and the Acopa team. What began as a conversation quickly evolved into something deeper: a shared vision. Both brands valued authenticity, integrity, and the soul of climbing culture. Rather than pursuing a traditional supplier relationship, they agreed on building something together—a partnership rooted in mutual respect and aligned values.

In 2023, the foundations of this partnership were laid, and in January 2025, Roca Pura was officially established in Guadalajara, Mexico.
