Austrian climber Barbara Zangerl is the recipient of the Paul Preuss Prize 2025. Awarded in memory of the bold Austrian alpinist, past winners are Reinhold Messner, Hanspeter Eisendle, Albert Precht, Hansjörg Auer, Alexander Huber, Beat Kammerlander, Bernd Arnold, Heinz Mariacher, Catherine Destivelle, Thomas Huber, Marko Prezelj and Dani Arnold

Belgian climber Siebe Vanhee has made the first rope solo ascent of 'Voie Petit' on Grand Capucin. The 450m line was established in 1997 Arnaud Petit and Stéphanie Bodet together with Pascal Gaudin and Jean-Paul Petit, and freed at 8a+/8b in 2005 by Alexander Huber.

Orlando Addis, Paul Chabot and Simon Prochaska have made the first ascent of 'Once upon a time in the northwest' on Tromma on the island of Kvaløya in Noway.

On 10/04/2025 on the NE Face of Mont Greuvettaz (3684m) in the Triolet basin of the Mont Blanc massif Italian alpinists François Cazzanelli and Giuseppe Vidoni made the first ascent of the mixed climb 'Combo' (600m, AI5, M6).
