Fred Gentet, Nicolas Kalisz, Stéphanie Bodet and Arnaud Petit have made the first ascent of Babel (7c+, 800m) in Morocco's Taghia Gorge

On 21/10/2007 Valeri Babanov and Sergey Kofanov carried out an outstanding ascent of the unclimbed west ridge of Jannu (7710m) in pure alpine style.

In August Polish mountaineers David Kaszlikowski and Eliza Kubarska made a first ascent of 'Golden Lunacy' (2000m UIAA VIII +, 7a+ max.) on Maujit Qaqarssuasia wall in the Torssakutak fjord, Greenland.

On 20/07 the Italians Karl Unterkircher and Daniele Bernasconi reached the summit of Gasherbrum II (8035m) via the virgin North Face, climbing a beautiful route and resolving one of the most famous problems in the Himalaya.

A Russian team led by Victor Kozlov is attempting new line up the west face of K2 (8611m).

From 2 - 17 June Mauro Florit, Marco Sterni, Umberto Iavazzo and Massimo Sacchi made the first ascent of "Tempus fugit" 7b 700m on the S Face of Kizilin Baci 2944m, Turkey.
