Towards the end of 2019 the Swiss mountaineers Lukas Hinterberger, Nicolas Hojac and Stephan Siegrist travelled to Northern Patagonia where they completed a rare ascent of Cerro Largo (2799m) before breaching the virgin northeast face of Cerro Cachet. The 2700m peak had only been climbed once previously, in 1971 by a team of climbers from New Zealand, and the new Swiss route Homenaje a los amigos perdidos was dedicated to three friends who died prematurely, namely David Lama, Ueli Steck and Julian Zanker.
