On the south face of the Petites Jorasses in the Mont Blanc massif, Matteo Della Bordella, Mirco Grasso and Giacomo Mauri opened the mixed climb 'Mutante' (M8, 6c, AI4+, 520m) on 19 and 20 March 2026

On 8 March 2026 Philipp Brugger and Lukas Waldner made the first single day winter ascent of all three North Pillars of Piz Palü (3899m) in the Bernina Alps of Switzerland. The Austrian alpinists enchained the Bumiller Pillar, East Pillar and Spinas Pillar in 8 hours and 59 minutes.

Matteo Della Bordella's report on the repeat of the 'Gogna-Cerutti' route on the Matterhorn, climbed on 7–8 March 2026 with Giacomo Mauri. The famous route was established up the mountain's north face from 14 to 17 July 1969 by Leo Cerruti and Alessandro Gogna.

From 4-6 March 2026, Giuseppe Vidoni made a winter solo ascent of the combo 'Padre Pio' and 'Une Échelle Vers le Ciel' on the south face of the Matterhorn. The report from the 31-year-old Italian mountain guide, who had not climbed these routes before.

On 5-6 March 2026 South Tyrolean alpinist Simon Gietl made a rope-solo winter ascent of 'Das Phantom der Zinne' on the north face of Cima Grande, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Dolomites, Italy.

From 25-26 February 2026 Charles Dubouloz made a solo ascent of the west face of Pic d'Ossau in the Pyrenees. In doing so the 36-year-old French alpinist has completed his winter trilogy which includes 'Divine Providence' in the Mont-Blanc massif and the 'Gamma route' on the Barre des Écrins.

On 20/01/2026 Austrian alpinists Martin Sieberer and Lukas Waldner completed the first winter ascent of 'Schutzengelweg' on the North Face of Sagwandspitze in the Valsertal valley in Tyrol, Austria. First ascended in summer 1982 by Andreas Orgler and Reinhard Schiestl, this is the first known repeat in 34 years.

On 31/12/2025 Filip Babicz and Olivier Gajewski climbed the historic 'Allain-Leininger' route (TD+, M7, 900m) on the north face of the Petit Dru (3,733m) in the Mont Blanc massif. This is a rare single-day free ascent in winter of this classic, established in 1935 by Pierre Allain and Raymond Leininger.

After feeling unwell in the village of Khare (5,045m, in Nepal), Simone Moro was was transported by helicopter to Kathmandu on Saturday 13 December, where he received initial treatment. He is now recovering well, according to a statement released by the staff of the 58-year-old mountaineer.
