SCARPA launches the new FURIA AIR: the most sensitive, lightweight climbing shoe on the market.
SCARPA introduces the new FURIA AIR, updated with targeted improvements that elevate performance. These include a reinforced velcro closure system, a new last, and a TPU-coated heel upper. The enhancements are completed by a new colourway, which is available today on SCARPA’s e-commerce platform and via the brand’s retail network.
Designed for climbers seeking unrivalled surface feel, FURIA AIR returns for 2026 in a refreshed version that fully preserves its DNA: a soft, sensitive and lightweight climbing shoe that has been the benchmark in the performance category since its launch in 2019.
The main update focuses on the closure system, now featuring reinforced velcro with a polymer material and Z-shaped fastening pattern. This solution is engineered for greater durability and more precise adjustment, even after intensive use, without compromising on quick and easy entry.
The second key element of the redesign is the new last, an update that further elevates fit by delivering a glove-like feel, increasing sensitivity and precision in a wide range of situations—from tiny footholds to smearing on volumes. Finally, the heel upper is now made of microfiber bonded with a TPU coating, a technical solution that improves abrasion resistance without sacrificing weight.
Thanks to these updates, FURIA AIR reaffirms itself as a versatile climbing shoe, ideal for outdoor climbing on projects that demand high adaptability and outstanding smearing performance, whilst also being extremely effective indoors, where sensitivity is crucial.
Aimed at intermediate and advanced climbers, including professionals, FURIA AIR is designed for those who prioritise high sensitivity and maximum surface control, accepting a reduction in structural support. For more experienced climbers, FURIA AIR represents an ideal shoe for training—aiding the development of strength in the plantar arch and supporting improved footwork—as well as being an option for peak performance on outdoor projects where smearing and foothold confidence are vital.
In line with SCARPA tradition, great care has been taken in the selection of materials. The upper of the new FURIA AIR is made from double-layer microfiber, with a perforated outer layer to reduce weight and increase adaptability to the foot. An Alcantara insert is positioned under the big toe to enhance sensitivity on even the smallest surface features. Completing the redesign is a new colourway, refreshing the look of one of the most iconic models in the Asolo brand’s climbing shoe lineup.
