German climber Alexander Megos has made the coveted first repeat of Sleeping Lion, the hardest sport climb at Siurana in Spain freed by Chris Sharma on 28 March 2023.

Last spring the American suggested the grade of 9b+, making it de facto one of the hardest sport climbs in the world, and while Megos has not yet shared his thoughts about the overall difficulty, he indicated that this was "another great line!" put up the 41-year-old.

Siurana is undoubtedly a special place for Megos. In addition to the myriad of difficult redpoints such as Furia De Jabali, King Capella and La Rambla (second go!), it is here that in 2013 he made the historic  world's first 9a onsight on Estado Critico.
