Part 2 - from July to December - of what happened in alpinism and climbing in 2012.

This August the Slovak climbers Dodo Kopold and Michal Sabovcik forged a new line up the NW Face of Great trango tower (6286m), Karakorum. Their "Out of Reality" ends on the shoulder circa 400m below the summit.

On 30 July at 16:00 David Lama, Peter Ortner and Corey Rich reached the summit of trango tower in the Karakorum via the route Eternal Flame.

On Friday 6 July at Selva di Val Gardena (Italy) Marina Kopteva and Anna Yasinskaya from the Ukraine and Galina Chibitok from Russia received the Karl Unterkircher Award 2012 for their new route established in 38 days up the NW Face of Great trango tower (Pakistan).
