At the start of the year Mélissa Le Nevé completed the long-awaited first female ascent of the world’s most revered 9a, Action Directe in Germany’s Frankenjura, first ascended in September 1991 by Wolfgang Güllich. Her 6-year battle against insane moves, inner doubt, and the burden of history to climb the most revered sport climb in the world was documented in the film that forms part of this year’s Reel Rock Film Tour. The world online premiere takes place on 11 December, and the trailer is out now.
