Watch Siebe Vanhee vs Riders On The Storm in Patagonia

The video of Siebe Vanhee on the crux pitch of 'Riders On The Storm', the crown jewel of big wall climbing in Patagonia freed with Nico Favresse, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll and Drew Smith over an 18-day period in 2024. The 1300m line was established in 1991 by Kurt Albert, Bernd Arnold, Norbert Bätz, Peter Dittrich and Wolfgang Güllich.

From 24 January to 10 February 2024 Riders on the Storm, one of the most famous big wall climbs in Patagonia located on the Central Tower in the Torres del Paine massif, was finally climbed free by Nico Favresse, Siebe Vanhee, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll and Drew Smith.

First ascended in 1991 by Kurt Albert, Bernd Arnold, Norbert Bätz, Peter Dittrich and Wolfgang Güllich, the 1300m line is considered a true crown jewel of big wall climbing in Patagonia. Here's Vanhee on the crux, pitch 17, that had never been climbed free before.
