At the start of February 2016 New Zealand's Mayan Smith-Gobat and Germany's Ines Papert repeated Riders on the Storm, the climb up the East Face of the Central Tower of the Torres del Paine in Patagonia, established 25 years ago by Wolfgang Güllich, Kurt Albert, Bernd Arnold, Norbert Bätz and Peter Dittrich. As reported, Smith-Gobat and Papert established some new variation pitches in the hope of achieving the first free ascent.
