In summer 2017 an international team comprised of Ines Papert, Joseph Pfnür, Luka Lindič, Paul McSorley and photographer Franz Walter forged a new route up Slanghoek Peak, the highest and steepest mountain in South Africa. Their 520m high Ruby Supernova was established ground-up, onsight, without bolts and with one bivouac, past difficulties up to ED1 7b+.
