On 15 & 16 June 2026 Nemuel Feurle repeated 'Unendliche Geschichte' (400m, 8b/+) in the Rätikon massif. On 3 July the Austrian climber repeated 'Headless Children' (260m, 8b).

At Rodellar in Spain Laura Rogora has onsighted her third 8c+, 'Così fan tutte'. Success comes during an astounding week that also netted her the 9a+ 'No pain no gain' and 'Patanics'.

On 16 April 2026, Swiss alpinists Benjamin Bosshard and Luca D'Amico established 'Magari vai sì' on Piz La Buora (2,678 m) in the canton of Grisons, Switzerland. This is the first route to climb the steep east face. Bosshard reports.

Swiss climber Katherine Choong has made the first female ascent of the historic 'Ravage' at Chuensiberg in Switzerland. First ascended in 1986 by Antoine Le Menestrel, the route was originally given 8c but subsequently downgraded to 8b+/c.

From 6-8 March 2026 Tasio Martín and Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll made the first free ascent of 'Pilar Este' on Cerro Chaltén (Fitz Roy) in Patagonia. The 1200m route was first ascended 50 years ago, in 1976 by Casimiro Ferrari and Vittorio Meles as part of a Ragni di Lecco expedition.
