Mountain Guide Eraldo Meraldi introduces the ski mountaineering trip to the lonesome summit of Monte Rinalpi (3012m), Alta Valtellina, Rhaetian alps.

On 16 and 17 March 2013 the highly experienced Austrian alpinists Hansjörg Auer, David Lama and Peter Ortner made the first winter ascent of the Sagwand via the route Schiefer Riss first climbed by Mathias Rebitsch and Roland Berger in 1947.

On 2 March Sébastien de Sainte Marie, Olov Isaksson and Gilles Bornet skied the West Face of Grand Muveran (1600m, 5.2/5.3 E4) in Switzerland's Bernese alps.

On Pizzo Dosdè 3280m in the Cima di Piazzi massif (Rhaetian alps) Giuliano Bordoni, Marco Cattaneo and Bruno Mottini have made the first ski descent of a line they called Freedom and Love down the East Face (50°, 800m). Mountain Guide Giuliano Bordoni has the story.

In February 2013 Sébastien de Sainte Marie from Switzerland and Olov Isaksson carried out two descents, possible first ski descents, in Switzerland down the North Face of Dent Favre (Bernese alps) and Pilatus (Urner alps). Olov Isaksson provides the report.

On 26/01/2013 the Slovenians Dejan Koren and Boötjan Mikuû made the first ascent of Gladiator (205 m, IV, M7-, WI6, X, R) a difficult new icefall on Cima delle Cenge, Valle di Riofreddo (Tarvisio, Tridente area), Italy.

On 23/11/2012 Marcello Sanguineti, Sergio De Leo, Christian Türk made the first ascent of "Follow the Gully" (300m, M6) a new gully up the South Face of Barre des Ecrins (Dauphiné alps, France).

The 12-13/1/2013 Enrico Bonino, Giancarlo Bazzocchi, Elio Bonfanti and Andrea Fazzari made the first ascent of "Dio li Fa... e poi li accoppia" 60m, M5 WI5 5c + RX) a new mixed climb in Valnontey (Cogne, Valle d'Aosta, Italy).

On 27/12/2012 David Lama and Peter Ortner made the first ascent of Sprindrift (600m, VIII-, M6, WI VI, A1) up the North Face of Laserz, Lienzer Dolomites, Austria.
