Dave MacLeod from Scotland has made the third ascent of "Breathless" on Great Gable in the Lake District, England

Last July Lynn Hill and Katie Brown made a free ascent of Leaning Tower's West Face (Yosemite, U.S.A.).

on 05/08 Maurizio "Manolo" Zanolla" made the second on-sight of Spirit, (Cima Merionale, Cime d'Auta, Dolomites).

On the 17th of July Alexander Huber from Germany successfully made the first free ascent of 'Voie Petit' on Grand Capucin, Mont Blanc, grading the 300m line F8b.

Riccardo Scarian has made the first repeat of "Spirit" on Cime D'Auta, Dolomites. This route was first ascended by Massimo da Pozzo and Danilo Serafini in September 2003 and graded (max 7c+/8a, 7b obbl.).

In mid-July a team of four climbers completed a line first ascended by Jeff Lowe in 1985 on Trapecio (5644m), Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru.

The 8th Climbing World Championships are currently underway in Munich. Over 500 athletes representing 55 countries have signed up for the event.
