On 26/06/2012 Simon Gietl and his brother Manuel completed Agoge (VIII/VIII+,400m), a new rock climbing up cima scotoni in the Italian Dolomites.

The South Tyrolean climbers Simon Gietl, Daniel Tavernini and Klaus Gruber have carried out the first winter ascents of ISO2000 (Tre Cime di Lavaredo) and Zauberlehrling (cima scotoni) in the Dolomites.

Lino Lacedelli, 84, passed away in Cortina, Italy this morning. In 1954 the member of the famous Scoiattoli mountaineering club became the first person to reach the summit of K2, together with Achille Compagnoni.

At Easter Florian and Martin Riegler carried out two noteworthy ascents in the Dolomites. On 7 April the South Tyrolean brothers made the first on-sight of "Karies" on Sassolungo while on 11 April they repeated Zauberlehrling on cima scotoni, all free and in a single day
