On 28/05/2007 Steve McClure freed the extension to Overnite Sensation, a probable 9a+ at Malham Cove, England called Overshadow.

On 27/05/2007 Angela Eiter redpointed Claudio Caffé 8c+ at Terra Promessa in Arco, Italy.

On 16/05/2007 Josune Bereziartu redpointed Powerade, 8c+ at Vadiello, Huesca.

On 6 May Rolando Larcher carried out the first free ascent of Mezzogiorno di fuoco (270m, 8b max, 7c obligatory) on Punta Giradili, Sardinia. The route had been established by Larcher together with Maurizio Oviglia and Roberto Vigiani in 2006.

On May 12 Jean-Pierre Ouellet redpointed La Zébrée 8b+ at Mont-King, Canada, placing all the gear except the first piece on lead.

On 29/04 the Austrian climber Hansjörg Auer carried out the second solo ascent of the legendary Via attraverso il Pesce on the south face of the Marmolada, after Maurizio Giordani's 1990 ascent. This is the first free solo without ropes.
