The crag Ferru e Cuaddu on the west coast of Sardinia

On the cliffs between Buggerru and the San Nicolò beach, on Sardinia’s western coast, a new climbing area has been established: Ferru e Cuaddu. This is the island’s first crag entirely bolted with titanium, a project carried out using high-quality materials designed to withstand the test of time — even in a marine environment.
The name was chosen to connect the crag to its historical context, as the area was traditionally known as Ferru e Cuaddu.
The project was made possible thanks to the “Adopt a Route” campaign, which involved numerous local businesses. Their financial contributions funded the purchase of titanium bolts and epoxy resin. As a token of gratitude, each route bears the name of the business that sponsored it, symbolizing the bond between this climbing area and the surrounding community.
Ferru e Cuaddu boasts a stunning and panoramic location, right by the sea. The walls are made of excellent limestone and offer varied climbing styles, including slabs, vertical faces, and overhangs, catering to different preferences.
The crag is accessible for most of the year, except during the coldest months and on days with strong maestrale winds.
