After a string of 8B+, on the 19th of November Italian climber Pietro Vidi upped the ante on the most coveted 8C of all, Dreamtime at Cresciano in Switzerland. Established by Fred Nicole in 2000 and famous for being the first 8C boulder problem in the world, even today - and despite some broken holds - Dreamtime represents a dream and an important goal for the best.
As mentioned, the 19-year-old's ascent came about in the wake of several 8B+ in Switzerland: Squalo Bianco, Fight Club and Tomba in Valle Bavona a few days ago, and Casavino at Brione in February. In April Vidi secured third place in the 2022 Italian Bouldering Cup.
