Jakob Schubert whisks up Joe Mama 9a+ at Oliana in Spain
At the Spanish crag Oliana Jakob Schubert has repeated Joe Mama, a 9a+ sports climb freed by Klemen Bečan.

On only his second day in Spain Jakob Schubert managed to settle the score with Joe Mama, the 9a+ freed in March 2016 by Slovenia's Klemen Bečan and repeated for the first time in October by Chris Sharma.
Schubert had attempted the route in November but had fallen off the last move before returning home to Innsbruck, Austria. The 25-year-old has now sent this "40 meter monster" despite training for power and bouldering recently.
Oliana evidently suits Schubert's style: it is here that he sent both his first 9a+ and his first 9b, Fight or Flight. He will remain in Spain until 9 January, so no doubt we'll be hearing more of him in the near future.
