On Tuesday the 3rd of November 2020 Emily Harrington completed a sub-24 hour free ascent of Golden Gate on El Capitan in Yosemite, freed by Alexander Huber and Thomas Huber in 2000. In doing so Harrington became only the fourth woman in history to free-climb El Cap in a day after Lynn Hill (The Nose in 1994, a year after her historic first free ascent), Steph Davis (Freerider, 2004) and Mayan Smith-Gobat (Freerider, 2011). A full film of Harrington’s ascent is in the making, in the meantime here’s some behind the scenes action.
