During the winter of 2020, Simon Gietl from the South Tyrol, Italy, completed the first solo winter traverse of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the Dolomites. In 2021 he climbed Pilastro di Mezzo via the Mariacher variant on Sass dla Crusc / heiligkreuzkofel, and then, in 2022 he completed the Rosengarten skyline traverse. In 2023 he concluded with the Geislerspitzen traverse. Always in winter. Always alone.
