Hansjörg Auer: No Turning Back
The film No Turning Back, portraying the life and climbs of Austrian alpinist Hansjörg Auer.

Hansjörg Auer free solo climbing on Grande Muro al Sass dla Crusc on 8 August 2016
Even before the astounding free solo ascent of the Fish route - Via del Pesce up the South Face of the Marmolada in the Italian Dolomites, Hansjörg Auer was considered a mountaineer in a league of his own. However, had it not been for two German climbers who, quite by chance, witnessed Auer on the 29th of April 2007 make his ropeless ascent, his era-defining solo would most certainly have gone down as one of climbing’s great unsolved mysteries. Fortune favours the bold though, and in the ensuing years the young lad from the Ötztal has continued treading his own path, marked by success but also difficulties, always forward looking. As is documented in this beautiful film produced by Matteo Vettorel.
