Last summer Federica Mingolla and Gabriele Carrara made the first ascent of L'isola che non c’è, a difficult new multi-pitch rock climb up the East Face of Aiguille Croux, above Rifugio Monzino and Val Vény in Mont Blanc massif. At the end of the five days at altitude they were greeted with an unusual surprise in the hut’s winter room…
