Digital Crack on the Mont Blanc Arête des Cosmiques, yesterday, today and tomorrow
The video of Alessandro Zeni and Enzo Oddo climbing Digital Crack on the Arête des Cosmiques of Mont Blanc. Not just any old 8a, as explained by the first ascensionists Thierry Renault and Alain Ghersen.

Digital Crack on the Mont Blanc Arête des Cosmiques, freed by Thierry Renault and Alain Ghersen in 1990
Some routes stand the test of time better than others. One of these is certainly Digital Crack, the fabulous just-off vertical slab bolted by Christoph Dat in 1988 and freed two years later by Thierry Renault and Alain Ghersen.
The line immediately left its mark, thanks also to where it sits: at 3800 meters above sea level, on the Grande Gendarme dell'Arête des Cosmiques in the Mont Blanc massif.
Recently the route was repeated by Alessandro Zeni and Enzo Oddo who in this video meet the two French mountaineers Renault and Ghersen who, 30 years ago, were in their absolute prime.
