Swiss mountaineer Roger Schäli has celebrated his 50th complete ascent of the Eiger in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland.

In mid-April 2015 Roger Schäli and Simon Gietl made an alpine style first ascent of the NE ridge of the North tower of Devils Paw, Alaska via their new route Black Roses.

The entire version of Loslassen, let go is now online. This film recounts the ascent of arwa spire (6193m) in India together with Simon Gietl, but also talks about the human relationships.

In September 2012 Roger Schäli and Simon Gietl made the first free ascent of Fior di Vite (800m, 90°, M5, 7a) up arwa spire (6193m), India, the route established by Schäli himself along with Hasler and Harvey in 2002.

David Lama, Stephan Siegrist, Denis Burdet and Rob Frost have established a new route up the NW Face via their Yoniverse to reach the summit of Cerro Kishtwar (6155m), Himalaya. Siegrist and Burdet then ascended the nearby untouched 6040m peak White Saphire.

From 8 — 12 January 2002 the French Parc National des Ecrins will host the Fournel Ice Climbing Event for 800 ice climbers. The nominees for the Piolet D'Or 2002 will be presented, as will the winning films of the Banff Mountain Film Festival.
