Trailer: Jim Morrison's historic Hornbein Couloir first ski descent on Everest

The first images of the historic first ski descent of the north face of Everest, skied via the Hornbein Couloir on 15 October 2025 by American ski mountaineer Jim Morrison.

On 15 October 2025 American ski mountaineer Jim Morrison became the first person to ski the North Face of Mount Everest via its most challenging and elusive line, a linkup of the Hornbein and Japanese Couloirs. Morrison summited with a team of 11 other mountaineers including fixers, Sherpas and a film crew led by photographer and National Geographic Explorer Jimmy Chin after having climbed the mountain via the same routes.

Now the scientific and educational organisation has released this short trailer about Morrison's descent, prior to the film which will be directed by Chin who in 2019 together with his wife Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi won the Oscars for Free Solo.
