First ski descent of Jones Route on Aoraki / Mt Cook in New Zealand On 01/11/2025 Ross Hewitt, Will Rowntree and sam smoothy made the first ski descent of the 'Jones Route' on the massive East Face of Aoraki / Mt Cook (3724m) in New Zealand. The 45°, 1400m descent, was skied with just one short abseil.
