24-year-old climber from Italy, Stefano Carnati, has repeated Erebor at Eremo di San Paolo close to Arco, Italy. First ascended in 2021 by Stefano Ghisolfi, this power endurance testpiece has been repeated by Laura Rogora, Adam Ondra and Jakob Schubert.

At his home crag Pic Saint Loup in France Sebastién Bouin has made the first ascent of 'Ariégeois Cœur Loyal', grading the route 9b.

A crowdfunding campaign to finance a solar powered pump to supply drinking water to the village of Taghia in Morocco has been launched. Called Eguzkiz Blai, the project is spearheaded by Iñaki Arakistain, Alex Honnold, Aitzol Ibarzabal, Arnaud Petit, Christian Ravier and Sean Villanueva O´Driscoll.

Marco Pellegrini has made the first ascent of three multipitch sport climbs up the south face of Punta su Mulone above Pedra Longa in the Baunei area of Sardinia, Italy: 'Penso Positivo' with Manuel Zambanini, 'Giumar' with Giulia Orlandi and 'Tempi Interessanti' with Luca Vallata.

On 6 March 2023 the Italian mountain guides Niccolò Bruni, Gianluca Marra and Giovanni Ravizza made the first ascent of 'Nati Liberi' on the east face of Aiguille de la Brenva, in the Mont Blanc massif. Bruni reports.

On 28 March 2023 Chris Sharma completed the first ascent of Sleeping Lion at Siurana in Spain. Graded 9b+, this is the 41-year-old's most difficult first ascent to date and one of the hardest sport climbs in the world.

Marcin Tomaszewski reports about the first ascent of FRAM, a technical 700m climb on Oqatssut Wall on the West coast of Greenland established from 10 - 24 February 2023 with Paweł Hałdaś. This is the first route on the mountain and the first big wall climbed in Greenland in winter.

From 8 - 9 February 2023 Antar Machado and Cristobal Señoret have made the first ascent of 'La Chilenita' (1,200m 5.11+ A0) on Cerro El Monstruo, Valle Cochamo, Patagonia, Chile.

On Friday 3 February 2023 Stefano Ghisolfi made the first ascent of Excalibur at Drena close to Arco. Graded 9b+, it is now one of the hardest sport climbs in Italy.
