| After two days of intense competition, the international ski mountaineering race Tour du Rutor was won on 4 April by Manfred Reichegger and Dennis Brunod, just 41 seconds ahead of Guido Giacomelli and Jean Pellissier. Graziano Boscacci and Ivan Murada, World Champions in 2002, finished third, 10 minutes behind the winning duo. The 2004 women's event was won cleanly by Gloriana Pellissier and Christiane Nex, who finished first both days.
