Watch Katherine Choong try Fly at Lauterbrunnen

The video of Swiss climber Katherine Choong attempting to repeat Fly (8c, 550m) at Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.

After becoming the first Swiss woman to climb 9a, Katherine Choong turned her attention to multi-pitch routes. Une Jolie Fleur dans une Peau de Vache (300m, 8b) in the Gorges du Verdon, La Ramirole (150m, 8b) also in the Verdon Gorge, Ali Baba (8a+, 240m) at Aiglun, La Fiesta de Los Metallos (200m, 8b) back in the Verdon, then Zahir (8b+, 300m) at Wenden were all redpointed pretty quickly. In summer 2023 she attempted to raise the bar, on the 20-pitch Fly in Lauterbrunnental in Switzerland. This beautiful short film follows the efforts of the 32-year-old and is just an excerpt, a sort of trailer for the full-length film called L'envol which will be shown at various film festivals.
