In mid-October Buster Martin claimed the ninth repeat of Hubble, the legendary sport climb at Raven Tor in England first ascended by Ben Moon back in 1990.

At the time, the 23-year-old Moon suggested the unprecedented grade of 8c+, heralding a completely new level of difficulty, but over the years more and more climbers are becoming convinced that Hubble may well be significantly harder and, as such, possibly even the first 9a in the world.

10 climbers are probably too few to provide a definitive answer, but the fact of the matter is that during these last 30 years Hubble has been repeated not because of its grade, but because it’s a landmark climb. This great short provides some invaluable historical footage and context.
