At Fontainebleau in France Italian climber Niccolò Ceria has repeated La Révolutionnaire, the boulder problem put up by Charles Albert and graded 8C+.
Niccolò Ceria cutting loose on La Révolutionnaire at Fontainebleau
France's bouldering haven Fontainebleau is a truly special place for Niccolò Ceria, so much so that in 2015 he spent 60 days climbing here on his own, and a further month in 2017. Now the Italian has sent La Révolutionnaire, the boulder problem established by barefoot Charles Albert in 2017, famous for being the first 8C+ in the forest. It was repeated in 2019 by Japan's Ryohei Kameyama and Ceria has explained that his biggest problem wasn't so much the tension moves at the lip, but working out how to start from the back of the cave.
