Admittedly the news isn’t the most recent, but it is certainly worth dwelling on one of the latest ascents of Martina Demmel who at the start of August managed to repeat Deltaplane man direct at Entraygues in France.
In addition to the attempts she made last year, in order to redpoint this 8c+ the 20-year-old German climber invested 6 attempts spread out over 3 days this summer. More importantly though, the redpoint marks a return to form after her foot injury at the end of December.
Demmel had caught international attention in 2021 for onsighting the 8b+ Humildes pa casa at Oliana in Spain, and for redpointing her first 9a, Joe-cita, just four years after having started climbing.
