Why is the route called Bain de Sang? The reason is revealed by Fred Nicole, the first ascensionist of this slab masterpiece freed in 1993 at Saint Loup in Switzerland. And repeated at the start of May by Jonas Schild who documents his ascent in this video and also interviews the legend who is Nicole.
