On Thursday 8 October 2020 at 12:00 the encounter between Reinhold Messner and Nirmal Purja, two of the most famous mountaineers in the world, will be streamed on gazzetta.it and ilfestivaldellosport.it

Today's the day: at 12:00 the meeting will be screened between Reinhold Messner, the first person to climb all fourteen highest mountains in the world, and the first person to do so without supplementary oxygen, and Nirmal Purja, the Nepalese mountaineer and former Gurkha who needed just six months and six days to complete the Himalayan 8000er crown.

The meeting, which took place at Sigmundskron Castle on the outskirts of Bozen, will be streamed on at 12:00 on gazzetta.it and ilfestivaldellosport.it

The encounter is a prelude to the three-day sports festival with over 100 athletes including: Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold in streaming on Saturday 10 October, followed by a live encounter and streaming with Nives Meroi and Romano Benet, while Hervé Barmasse is scheduled for Sunday 11 Octobr. Furthermore, the Climbing Masterclass with Adam Ondra, Stefano Ghisolfi, Michael Piccolaruaz, Ludovico Fossali and Laura Rogora will also take place on Saturday 10 October.

Earlier today the Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja reached the summit of Shishapagma and, in doing so, completed his ‘Project Possible’ which aimed at climbing all fourteen eight-thousanders in less than seven months. Purja required just six months and six days; the previous record to complete Himalayan crown was over 7 years.
