"It is weird having tons of people questioning your motivation. Questioning your sanity." These words were uttered by talented American climber Alex Honnold and probably we too - sooner or later - have all questioned our own reasons and motivations. Have dug deep to find out more about our thirst for adventure. have reasoned about that small or large "madness" which seems, if not entirely "normal", certainly indispensable.

It comes as no coincidence that Honnold's words start this video, with which The North Face celebrates its first 50 years. The invitation, to the tune of Miles From Nowhere from Cat Stevens, is to have no preconceptions. Is to ask questions, but also, to search for answers which are absolute. If, in the end, those visions, those falls, that void, all that "absurd madness" and also suffering captured your imagination, well then no questions or answers will ever suffice: you will continue to dream about those open spaces, that nature, those mountains and all your irrenunciable and conscious "madness"…
